Over the last decade, I have had several opportunities to work with AWS technologies and become familiar with a number of its services such as S3, RDS, and EC2. However, my knowledge of these services is somewhat shallow, as I tend to learn only the minimum required to complete the tasks assigned by my clients. This is the reality of consultancy - few clients will pay you to learn new technologies.
That being said, I always found working with AWS enjoyable and wouldn’t mind doing more of it. This current sabbatical might be the perfect time for me to deepen my understanding of the services I know and gain a broader understanding of AWS’s suite of services.
A good way to achieve this is through Amazon’s AWS Certification Program. After taking a good look at the impressive list of programs, the most interesting certificate for me is the Solutions Architect Certificate (SAA-C03). It covers a broad range of services and seems quite practical.
I will start with the Ultimate AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate Course on Udemy. In the coming weeks, I plan to document my learning through blog posts, sharing my journey and insights with others.
