The Holiday Season is finally over. It’s been a nice break. I stopped working on my personal projects and focused on the family for a few weeks. We had Christmas parties, get-togethers with friends, and (still) plenty of hockey for my son.

Work

I’m now looking for work (contract or permanent). Ideally, I’ll find something for March, but we’ll see. I’m looking for remote work, preferably though a hybrid position is also an option. The important thing is that the work is in a domain that interests me. I like complex business domains. I expect that’s why the military domain has been of interest in the last few years. Technology-wise, in the previous year, I’ve mostly worked with Go, Ruby, and microservice technologies.

If you want me to work on your stuff, drop me a line through Linked In.

Books

I’m almost done listening to Geddy Lee’s “My Effin Life”. Loving it! The Audible is worth it as Geddy is doing the narration himself (with some help from Alex). Hearing Geddy explain his parents’ struggles and Neil’s last days is what I’ll remember most of the book. If you’re a Rush fan, I highly recommend it.

AWS Certification

I’m still working on the AWS Solutions Architect. I’m only 50% done with my study plan. It’s taking longer than initially planned as I am using a new approach to learning. This approach should allow me to retain more stuff but also requires more of a commitment. It’s a work in progress… I expect to write about my learning approach in the coming months, but as it is still evolving, there has yet to be anything to talk about.

Whenever things change, I will update this page.
